TRUST IN THE LORD
I wrote this back around 1986, as a fired up young disciple in Boston. I had endured a case of strep throat that very nearly took my life, and as I slowly regained my health I realized that my spirituality had matured as well. The small family group I was part of learned the song, and we sang it often for about a year. But after a few moves and other changes, it found its way into a folder. In 2006 a call went out through the kingdom for songwriters to submit new material for a songbook supplement. Trust In the Lord has been unearthed, submitted and published.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
