solo gigs   It was in Raleigh that I did my first coffeehouse gig: Classic Coffees had just opened, and a mutual friend hooked us up. I was their first live performer, and to the best of my knowledge, they still have a rotation going today.

I went on to play at a dozen venues throughout North Carolina, including regular gigs at Greek and Italian restaurants. Some places were real classy and some not so much. I might play solo or with a percussionist or another guitarist (or both). My set list gets pretty eclectic, often moving between my "robust" originals (a term coined by a local paper), and artists as diverse as the Beatles, Gordon Lightfoot, Queen, John Denver, REO Speedwagon, Cat Stevens and a host of one-hit wonders.
