freedom toast
Around January 2004 I put a profile on musicmates.com, and within a few weeks I was part of Freedom Toast, an originals-only band, joining Bart (lead vocals, acoustic guitar), Ian (bass, keyboards, vocals) and Justin (drums, sequences, Christmas tree lights). Songwriters all, we brought a veritable cornucopia of styles to the table.
We carved out a difficult to classify brand of rock - someone once called it "country grunge" - common comparisons were to Neil Young, the Eagles, and the Allman Bros. There were heavier influences sprinkled throughout - Rush and King's X come to mind - but the overall vibe was more of a Marshall Tucker kind of thing.

In July of '04 we were privileged to work with the magicians at Dub Media to produce our first and only CD, entitled crumbs. This unique recording is still available in limited quantities - email me for more info. The duration of Freedom Toast was short but sweet - ultimately, too little agreement on the direction of the band caused its downfall. I think I'm gonna have a heart attack and die from that surprise!
