August of 1985 found me pursuing employment - and Tammy's heart - in Cambridge, just outside of Boston. What we gained instead changed our lives for eternity. Together we stumbled into the Kingdom of God on earth, and though we've both moved on to marry others, we've never turned back from the Lord.
Becoming a Christian altered everything, including my musicality. Having a clean slate, a higher standard, and exposure to magnificent music, I grew like... well, like a weed! I had countless opportunities to perform at a variety of functions. I jammed frequently with students from Berklee College of Music - killer players all - and honed my improvisational chops.

But without question, the most impactful thing ever to happen to me, musically, was meeting Kevin Darby. Our friendship began while I was singing tenor in his a capella group, The Freedom Singers. It was at Kevin's urging that I began teaching myself how to read and write notation.
I'm fascinated by four-part vocal harmonies, and have applied much of that theory to the way I play and write. My singing improved, and my skills on acoustic and electric guitar matured deeply. By 1990, I was past due to pursue music as a profession. That's when I auditioned for...
