One of the best moves I ever made was walking into Medley Music one fine day - there she was, right smack in the middle of the store. She was simply gorgeous - her shapely body was glowing yellow tiger maple. I picked her up (really, she picked me up) and took her home.

I held three jobs at one point, sleeping four hours a night. For a year I had no life to speak of. During the day I sold and installed vinyl tape pinstripes, in the evening I taxied blue-haired old ladies around town, and in the wee hours I managed a 7-11.


I began working out, and to turn from the drugs, alcohol and promiscuity that had become such a part of my life. But despite my best efforts to walk the straight and narrow, I was lost and very lonely. Jobs and women came and went - some really needed to go, and others - well, c'est la vie.

In late 1983 my curiosity about Christianity began to bloom. I saw a TV commercial about a book called Power for Living. Something about the sincerity of the testimonials got to me. I ordered a copy and ever so slowly began the journey...
