bad boy
Reuniting with some bandmates from high school days, we played around Philly for about a year. We lifted the name from a Freddie Mercury lyric in March of the Black Queen, and we consisted of two electric guitars, bass, drums and me on lead vocals.
By this time, my voice had begun to change drastically, and at one rehearsal - if memory serves, we were running through several Aerosmith tunes - my throat simply quit. All I could get for weeks was a sound like a bad muffler. The late great Lynyrd Skynyrd was also hugely popular, a heck of alotta fun to play, and much easier on the vocal cords. Get them lighters in the air!

every stranger's face
Named after Paul Simon's lyric in Homeward Bound. I had developed enough finesse to experiment with writing a few of my own tunes, while covering much of the singer-songwriter material of the 60s and 70s. Every Stranger's Face was two acoustic guitars and two voices, divided between Chris, Bruce and myself.
Our setlist included material by Simon & Garfunkel (naturally), the Eagles, America, Jackson Browne and other icons of the folk-rock and California-rock scenes. Every Stranger's Face never made it past a couple of parties - which is a shame, 'cause we loved the name!
